![]() We also are intelligent enough to know we should not act on these instincts and take advantage of unwilling people. Any person who is not an asexual most likely will mentally objectify another who they deem to be physically attractive at some time in their lives. ![]() However, this objectification is programmed into us as a species. I agree these portrayals are objectification. Consider the conditioning and the strength of male protagonists, like Kratos from God of War or Master Chief from Halo, for example. Of course, I realize women often are sexualized in video games such as Dead or Alive Xtreme, and other forms of media. This also happens to men. They are creating controversy out of a needless issue. Rather, it is the precarious, politically correct rhetoric of the West, and the cause can be attributed to radical members of the Far Left, the social justice warriors. I will be clear: this is no fault of the companies themselves. This censorship should not be an issue to begin with. And I want to speak out in favor of Dead or Alive, its supporting companies, and others, as well. I knew, as a supporter of this series and its developer and publisher, I could no longer be silent on this issue. ![]() When I heard about this, my relative apathy about the censorship became mild frustration. I must say I’m a major fan of Hyperdimension Neptunia. Courtesy of Idea Factory and Compile Heart. The Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, including the just released Hyperdimension Neptunia Re Birth 3: V Century and the upcoming Megadimension Neptunia VII to be released in early 2016, are safe for now. Compile Heart’s Monster Monpiece already has seen censorship for the PS Vita version but not the Steam version in North America and Europe. Courtesy of Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja.Įarlier this week, publisher Idea Factory International announced it had made a similar decision in regards to the games of developer Compile Heart. According to a post on Koei Tecmo’s official Facebook page (which is now inaccessible), it explained this decision was due to the controversy over the treatment of women in the video game industry. Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, the publisher and the developer behind the Dead or Alive and Dead or Alive Xtreme series, were one of the first to explain they were withholding a game, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in this example, from a U.S.
